The next GGEAR geriatrics-education program is set for Friday, Jan. 8 via Zoom, and will focus on the challenges of elder care in the era of COVID-19.
The topic for the session:
COVID-19: Updates, Hidden Health Risks of Social Isolation in Later Life & Pathways to a More Connected Future.
The program will be held from 8:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In addition to updates from the Maryland Department of Aging, it will feature two main presentations by physician/researchers at the University of Maryland:
– COVID-19 Update on Transmission, and Vaccine Development” by Dr. Wilbur Chen
and
– “Social Isolation and Loneliness: Current Crisis, Future Opportunity” by Dr. Thomas Cudjoe.
