The Possibility Shop partners with other organizations so that you can get the help you need when you need it. We serve the residents of Allegany County and surrounding area. If you need help but are not sure how to get it, stop by or give us a call.

Who We Are
The Possibility Shop is located in Cumberland, Maryland, and serves the rural communities of Allegany County. As part of AHEC West, we work alongside community health workers, peer recovery specialists, and a network of local partners to support individuals facing various challenges.
We work with dedicated partners, including:

- Western Maryland Food Bank
- Maryland Legal Aid
- Horizon Goodwill
- Maryland Women’s Health Center
What We Offer
At The Possibility Shop, we provide a wide array of services and support, including:
- Mental health resources
- Health insurance education and enrollment
- COVID-19 and HIV testing
- Housing assistance
- Harm reduction services, such as syringe services and naloxone distribution
- Hygiene products and outdoor survival equipment for individuals experiencing homelessness (e.g., tents, blankets, and backpacks)
- Connection to other local service agencies
- Food and clothing distribution
- Connection to legal resources
